Am I Being Punked?

Was my first thought this evening when Mekhi and I had the following conversation over dinner:

Me: Mekhi, you can have more milk but I am going to stand here to make sure you don't spill it.

Mekhi says nothing but waves his hand away as if swatting a fly.

Me: Mekhi, I am staying here.

Mekhi: Sit down.

Me: (with an astonished look on my face while surveying the room for hidden cameras): Excuse me?

Mekhi: (adamantly) Sit down!

Me: (wearing a perplexed look on my face) ?

Mekhi: Run!

Me: ?

Mekhi: Run!

It was all I could do not to bust out laughing as I took one more glance around the room to be sure that Ashton Kutcher was not running loose in my home.

My son was serious and he is not yet two! Scary times are ahead for sure.

I dedicate this song to Mekhi and all of the other bossy toddlers out there.

This is HYSTERICAL.

Seriously. And just what I needed to read because my son, it seems, is in complete control sometimes.

So funny.

:) They get SUCH independence at such young ages...or maybe it's what they should be doing and we're just amazed because we're their parents and think it's absolutely incredible how they behave. I was JUST having this conversation with Hubs not five minutes before I read this about our 4 year old.

Right? Sometimes I grumble under my breath "You better be glad you're not a grown woman/man b/c then it would be on like Donkey Kong...finish your Cheerios!" I have to practice my counting to 10 method and tell myself (internally of course) "they are just testing their limits and they are probably just mirroring me to see what reaction they will get from me"...8, 9, 10..... :oP

My best, Lynn

Too funny! My daughter can't really talk yet, but we're already getting the sass. I fear we have a LONG road ahead of us.
LMAO! Yes, I know how it can be. He told you to sit down, crazy funny!

That is funny. My son is only 6 months and he still tries to be bossy. His tone of voice when he is babbling is so funny. I come home to my husband and son looking at each other dead in the face arguing. I just roll my eyes and laugh. I do not want to see this little boy when he can talk and walk.

Oh no! Hahaha, that age is very funny. I remember being summoned to the room once as Jordan says, "honey get my bottle" as he points off to the side of the bed.

That is hilarious!!! It is funny what they learn to tell us huh? Graham decided he didn't want to sleep the other night and I brought him into the bed with me .. at some point in the morning he was sticking his feet in my face saying "I funny" LOL!!

PS. I don't make it a habit of putting him in the bed, but my husband was out of town. :)

Too funny. My daughter is Miss Bossy. For almost two years she was quiet as can be, but once she opened her mouth it never closed - smiles!

Ha! My 3 yr old told me to "run away, mommy!" this morning when I was trying to help him onto his potty. lol. Sometimes he'll say, "I got this!" So cute. Growing up & wanting to do stuff on their own.
