Jawbone Up! #VZWBUZZ {video post}
In January I proclaimed my word that will guide me in 2014 is transformation. I am diligently working on transforming my mental, spiritual and physical being to make this the best year ever! My focus on physical fitness isn’t brand new. If you’ve been following my blog for any time you know that at the end of 2009 I embarked on a journey to lose over 50 pounds and I was successful. Since 2010 I’ve been living a pretty active and healthy lifestyle. But like all of us, I have my ups and downs in both activity level and weight. Last year after my surgery I took a pretty big break from running and being active. I did some things but I wasn’t consistent.
2014 is about being consistent and actually attaining my goal of becoming a fitness model. I am already signed to an agency but I want to be specifically pegged for fitness campaigns. To that end I’ve been working with a trainer since the beginning of last month and it has been going pretty well. I am happy to say that I am losing some pounds and inches, losing fat and building muscle. One of the things that has recently been added to my regular schedule is the Jawbone Up. The Jawbone Up tracks my activity level on a daily basis and provides me with the opportunity to journal my food, see how well I am sleeping and add exercise that I do so I have an accurate calorie burn count. Check out my video to see it in action.
My Jawbone Up is utilized with IOS so my iPhone5 is great for synching on the go but more often than not, I use it with with iPad mini at night before I go to sleep. It has provided me with some great insights too. I can see that I am more active than most women in the Up community, I can check out what my teammates are doing - it provides me with the opportunity to add my friends to my team and I can see trends in my behavior.
I wear my Jawbone Up 24 hours a day and I find it unobtrusive and since I have a black band, it works with just about any outfit I wear! I’ve been using my Up for about 3 weeks now and most days I am synching it multiple times to see how far off I am from completing 10,000 daily steps! I am on a 5 day roll now and I plan on keeping it up. I think my favorite update was the night I danced for 6 miles! I was celebrating my birthday and was the dancing machine I usually am burning calories left and right!
If you are looking for an easy way to track your daily fitness goals, I highly recommend the Jawbone Up!
