Back to School with Box Tops for Education

Back to school means a lot of things but one of the most important for me is participating in the Box Tops for Education (BTE) program. I’m a member of the Box Tops for Education blogger panel and have had the wonderful opportunity to attend Box Tops University two years in a row with other panel members and BTE coordinators from across the country. Although I am not the coordinator at my son’s school, I have connected with her and we plan to work together to make this the best year ever!

If you are not familiar with BTE the concept is simple, purchase items that have Box Tops, collect them and turn them in to your school coordinator. The school earns money for every Box Top! These funds are unrestricted and can be used for everything from a new computer lab, playground or subsidizing school trips. The options are endless and depend on the needs of your school.

The Back to School season is an optimal time to begin collecting. There are numerous opportunities in your grocery and big box stores to earn double and even triple Box Tops. I of course am partial to shopping at Walmart where you will find endcaps filled with items having multiple Box Tops. There are hundreds of brands that participate in the Box Tops program everything from Hanes (essentials like underwear, socks, and tee shirts have box tops) to Cascadia Farms, Ziplock bags and even copy paper! All items that I am sure you are already purchasing but may have overlooked the Box Tops opportunity which at minimum is 10 cents for every one turned in!

I implore you to start collected Box Tops for your school and be sure to enroll in the online marketplace where your  online shopping at places like Bloomingdales, Athleta, Ann Taylor, Best Buy, Bobbi Brown and so many more will add to your Box Tops coiffer.

And as a little kickstart, Box Tops has provided me with a basket filled with items including Box Tops mugs, a shirt and food to add to your Box Tops supply! To enter, simply leave a comment below and tell me if you participate in Box Tops or plan to this school year ! Even if you don’t have a school age child, collect Box Tops and donate them to your favorite school (or me)!
