Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie

This post is sponsored by McDonalds, I am member of the McDonalds blogger network and all opinions are my own.

I must admit that I am a true lover of smoothies. If you follow my other blog you will find many of my favorite smoothie recipes that I have blended in my kitchen.  But admittedly, I have fallen off the smoothie wagon. They were a daily staple in my diet that have sadly fallen to the wayside but I am going to the habit back up because with daily smoothies my weight was balanced, my skin cleared up and I felt better overall.

One of the things that kept me from my smoothies was a lack of time in the mornings. Once I fell out of the habit of making my smoothies it was difficult to get back on track. However, once I was introduced to McDonald's McCafé blueberry pomegranate smoothie.  I must say that I truly enjoy the sweet - tart taste.  And it is funny because the first time I tried it I was told that I wouldn't like it. But, with a small packing only 220 calories, I not only like the taste but it is a great addition to my healthy lifestyle.  Each one is made fresh when ordered with blueberries, raspberries and a splash of pomegranate juice blended with ice and yogurt. Since I seldom eat diary, it is worth noting that your can order your smoothie without yogurt!

I also think about this as a great post run meal and in that instance I'd keep the diary for recovery. Although I have to postpone running the Peachtree Road Race this 4th of July, I wanted to let you know that the McCafe Blueberry Pomegranate smoothie is making an appearance! There will be a sampling truck for participants and spectators in front of the McDonald's at 2929 Peachtree Road NE. If you are running or will be out there cheering on the runners be sure to get a taste!
