Give the Gift of Crafting

Although I wouldn't call myself crafty in general, I do have my moments of inspiration. As a matter of fact, my blog is actually named for the business I initially created based on a craft - Cutie Booty Cakes. Although I am no longer in the business of arranging diapers to look like wedding cakes, I am still a fan of "trying" my hand at crafts that are simple to do. I was sent a jewelry making kit by Mix & Mingle by Walmart. I actually really liked the variety of beads and had made options to choose from for jewelry design.

There were leather necklaces, slide necklaces and bracelets, earrings and even a watch! I decided to work on a key pendant and attach the final product to a leather necklace. I also made accent earrings. The most difficult part of this entire project was figuring out the color combinations and beads that I wanted to use. Each bead strand has a variety of beads and I mixed and matched for this pretty blue and pink creation. The top of the key simply twists off and I added my bead choices.

I did the same for my earrings. I have to say that the final project is something that not only would I wear but I'd be proud to give as a gift to my family members.

Mix and Mingle is great if you enjoy designing your own jewelry or for a friend who likes to make jewelry. I am pretty sure that a few people on my Christmas list will receive this gift from me.

Walmart also has a large selection of crafts for girls and boys of all ages. I was sent this selection and know my son is going to have a ball playing with both the Zombie set and the power ball kit. The other kits I am donating to a local shelter. I know there are little girls out there who'd love a friendship making kit and the memo board.

I took the Power ball craft on a test run before my son tries it out. And I found it to be a quick and simple craft that we can easily do together.

You simply pour your chosen color combinations into one of the molds, place the filled mold in a cup for five minutes, remove and let dry for 5 -10 minutes. And voila, you have a bouncing ball!

All of these crafts are perfect for gifting and honestly I wouldn't mind receiving some of the DIY jewelry myself! You can find them all at Walmart.

Disclosure: I am a Walmart mom and have been compensated for my time and effort to create this post and received the products highlighted. As usual, all opinions are my own.

I'm sort of crafty but haven't had much time with blogging and family. I have been thinking of making jewelry though...
