Yooooo Gabba Gabba!

Giveaway over - Congratulations to Super Blogger Girl!

One of the things that I am most surprised about parenting is that I do things I swore I’d never do. For instance, when my son was really young I was adamant that he would NOT watch television. That however quickly changed when I learned of the multitude of educational programing out there that not only provided my son with knowledge but also frequently occasionally offered me a much needed mommy time out!

One of my his favorite shows is Yo Gabba Gabba. Now, I’ve waxed poetic about my love of this show on my blog before. Although I was initially disturbed by the “interesting” looking characters, after viewing the show I realized that not only did it teach my son important life skills but the creators kept parents in mind. Guest stars like Jack Black and musicians like The Roots keep me glued to the screen.

There have been tours of Yo Gabba Gabba in the past but unfortunately none have come to my city. Well, that has changed and next month we will be seeing Muno and the gang  live on stage! To say I’m excited is an understatement. I just hope to catch a glimpse of DJ Lance too! The tour is sponsored by KIA and if you haven’t seen their recent commercials featuring the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba you are missing out.

The tour might be in a city close to you and as a bonus - a $1 from every ticket sale goes to Habitat for Humanity! Check out YoGabbaGabbaLive.com to see the full tour schedule!

I was the same way with our first daughter! We were against TV for the most part and then my son came along as we became more lax. Then our little lady joined the family and we watch Yo Gabba Gabba together! We're in the process of adopting twins from Ethiopia so it will be interesting to see how things change as far as TV with five little ones in the house!
Blessings.

My daughter just started watching this and I have to admit that I actually liked the beat. It was up beat as opposed to some of the songs in The Backyardigans, they put me to sleep!

This is one of my 3yr olds favorite shows. I was just watching it with her tonight before bed.
I like the catchy songs like "don't bite your friends" and "we are the tiny ugly germs"

She walks around signing them all day sometimes. She does this dance and sings along introducing the characters when the show is coming on. It's so cute.

I took my kids to see Gabba Live the last weekend in August in Bethel, NY. It was great! Michael (my two year old) had a blast. My older kids got a kick out of it too. DJ Lance was there and Biz Markie made an appearance to do Biz's Beat of the Day. So fun!! :)

I am knee deep in planning my son's YGG themed first birthday party! This show holds his attention like few other things. That used to annoy me but I embrace it as a 1/2 hour that I can do things he won't usually let me do - like try to braid his hair LOL.

I love the catchy little songs that explore all genres of music and offer good lessons. I anticipate playing that "You Can't Always Get What You Want" song a lot when he's older!
