Tip of the day: It is summer time, do some water play! If you have a pool you are ahead of the game. Swimming is a great low-impact activity that can burn tons of calories. The added benefit is cooling off (especially here in the hot South). Unfortunately, I do not have a pool so I we do the next best thing - sprinkler play. Since my son is an only child I frequently am his playmate, we frolic across our lawn running into and away from the spray of the sprinkler. Many times I’d rather just sit under our gazebo and watch him play but he will not allow it. Fun time and exercise at the bequest of a toddler. Gotta love it!

Luclily we have a pool in our Townhouse community so we go in the pool at least 4 nights a week

We use the Slip N' Slide a lot and we love going to water parks.
We live in the water when it's hot. Fortunately a good friend of ours has a pool. We are there at least once a week. We also have one of those blue pools. It's only a few feet high but we are all in it when it gets really hot. We also have a wonderful stream that the kids love to play in or we go to the lake. My house is never clean, but we do stay cool.

Hubs bought a little wading pool for the kids. It has a little water shooter and a slide. Super cute right? Then we got the water bill from letting that sprayer spray while they played. Not so cute.
We run in the sprinkler, play in the wading pool and my new favorite this year is the tub of water and toys! I fill a big tub or bucket and my son will just sit there for hours playing with his water toys and boats in the water.
We have a Nemo kiddie pool and 2 different sprinklers. I was thinking today might be a good day to break them out since it is so hot. :)

Well, I wish I could say I had a pool because me and the kids love to swim, but we have to make due with the sprinkler and water gun fights and cherish those invitations to friends who do have pools.

Honestly? Nothing. It is too stinkin' hot here to go to an outdoor pool, and we don't know where there is an indoor one. We don't have a sprinkler, and the spigot for the hose in our yard doesn't work. The only water play around here is when it rains, and the kids play out in the rain on the back deck.

We take the kids to others pools and let them splash about. Also, here in FL they have these wonderful things called spraygrounds that are basically a whole bunch of water sprayers that shoot out of the ground at the kids and there's no need for a lifeguard or really for you to keep constant watch because it's basically as safe as you can get with water play! My kids love it...

Since it's so crazy hot out here in El Paso, we've been having lots of water play. We have a pool, a splash pad for baby girl and a couple of different fun sprinklers! And a good ol'fashion spray from the hose always helps too!
