Meet the newest addition to the family

Or perhaps I should say additions. This is my new Frigidaire gas range and microwave. Back in May I mentioned that I was chosen to be a Frigidaire Test Drive mom. I expected to have a new dishwasher installed but the machines are still in production. I could have waited for the machine but I was given the option to "test drive" another appliance. Honestly, I am happy about this turn of events because I've been in dire need of a new range. My old one is only two years old but it is problematic because it is not self-cleaning. Subsequently, the front of the oven gets extraordinarily hot when I am cooking.

Not great when you have a toddler running around.

This new range has all the bells and whistles I could ever ask for and the men that installed it were surprised at some of the things that the range is equipped with. I have to say my favorite feature is the middle eye. The fifth burner is going to come in handy; the range came with a griddle and lookie, lookie, no need to pull out the cast iron pan to make pancakes.

I still have to read the manuals for my range and microwave but so far I am extremely pleased with them.

There is just something about us women and our kitchen stuff! I gotta say those are sweet pieces to have!

As a test drive mom, how long do you test for and do you have to return it after the period?

Oh and congrats on being a test drive mom because I think that's just really darn cool!

Ok.. that is fabulous!! I love the center part where you can cook up the pancakes!! I have to pull out the griddle every morning. AWESOME! Can I come over for some Choc. Chip pancakes? They are my favorite!

So do you get to keep it?

We have a 36 inch six burner gas stove. It came with a cast iron griddle that goes over two of the burners, but we never use it. It's just too big and unwieldy. I'll be interested to see how you like that one.

How pretty is that. Sucks that the front gets all hot. I don't like that my little dude likes to stand on the handle for the under oven shelf and reach up to the range. Not because it's hot (for some reason he knows to avoid it then), but because the door opens and he falls on the floor. Gotta watch that kid like a hawk!
