Modern Mom Challenge Week 2


It is week 2 of the Modern Mom Challenge and I am going strong. You can check out my vlog to hear about my progress.

What a great way to have accountability. I really like your video sessions and I love the idea of baby steps. I think it is easier to change our lives when we take one step at a time.

Way to go, Renee! I'm okay on the food part (lots of lean meats and vegetables) but I need to work on my portion control, too.

Awwwwwww, what a cool way to keep yourself motivated, Renée! I loved the video and the idea of taking baby steps is great! :) It seems I missed a lot of cool posts from you, so will be back again later to catch up. Happy 2009 to you and your family!

I joined MMC today because a girl needs some support! Great site by the way. Good for you on switching to water. I drink more water now, but I can't can't can't cut out other drinks. Baby Steps as you said!

Sounds like you're doing great! I think baby steps is the way to go. Not that I've took any steps but you know...it sounds good.

Go head on girl! Glad you are making some progress. I have yet to formally join in on the challenge (as I sit her eating a 2nd 500 calories in mozzarella sticks). I did do a lot of walking last week though as Miss J went back to school. I stood Billy up, but I think I wil go ahead and stop playing hard to get, haha.

Don't forget to get you some whole grains while food shopping. Remember to read the labels on the boxes and shy away from the "enriched" ingredients. You'll do just fine.

You know I'm really tempted to join modern mom challenge. I wanted to do the wii fit challenge but I didn't get one for Christmas :( Maybe I can do this in the mean time. Oh I use to drink water a lot as well (I need to go back to doing that). What I started to do when I wanted a little flavor was just add fruits. I would have fruits soaking in my water, just to have a little flavor that I would be yearning for. I hope that helps.

Baby steps. That's the way to do it! Sounds like your doing good Renee. You've inspired me to work out today. I've been doing good with my workouts but today I just don't feel like it. But! after watching your vlog I've changed my mind and will work out after work. My next step needs to be food. Even though I am working out, I am not completely focused on eating right.

Good for you, Renee! You inspire my own getting healthy regimen. I love how you said "baby steps," because it's a much more realistic frame of mind than my typical "I'm gonna work out 2 hours a day!" vow I traditionally make (and don't keep).

Keep it up and I can't wait to hear your next update!

I just got back from the gym myself!! I went at 5:20 and went on the bike and did some abs. I am determined to lose 25 before my 50th birthday.

yikes, did I say 50? I mean, uh, 25. yeah, 25.

Great goals! All things I need to be doing. I've stuck to my water minimum (at least 1 ltr a day) but often not getting much more. Something to work on. Also, portion size. If the food didn't taste so darn good, I wouldn't want to eat it all.

OMG! I so feel you right now. For the past couple of weeks, I've done a 360 on my eating habits. I'm drinking more water (no juice or sodas) and eating like a Vegetarian lol Exercise is included of course. I'm going to start, like you, and take baby steps because that was too big of a change in just a week for me. And you are gorgeous!
