I Get High With A Little Help From My Friends

I get by with a little help from my friends
Gonna try with a little help from my friends
- The Beatles

John and Paul took the words right out of my mouth. Inevitably whenever I need a kick in the pants I receive encouragement from friends. During my journey to fitness and health the women participating in the Modern Mom Challenge will be my fitness buddies. Every Monday I will post about my progress.

Initially I had grand visions of vlogging in a way cute outfit before I did my workout. When the “cute” outfit did not fit (providing me with more inspiration to exercise) those hopes were dashed. Instead, I am completely exposed, no make-up, slightly breathless and totally exuberant because I completed my first workout.

Oh, and about the title of this post. I know it is titillating but I am referring to my endorphin high. Although the first few minutes of the workout were brutal, by the time I was midway through the endorphins kicked in and I had that high. One day down and at least three to go.

2009 is my year and this is just the beginning.

Woopty woot! I'm so proud of you mama! Did I tell you the belt on my treadmill ripped! Ain't that a shame? I had my routine down and everything. My husband ordered a replacement but it's not here yet.

I was totally going to post about something along these lines... sort of.

Keep up the good work, girl!

Great job Renee! I love Exercise TV on Demand...there are hundreds of workouts. And you're right: with cable on demand, there really is no excuse.

Fantastic way to start week 1 of the Challenge :)

You go. I'm still waiting for my hubby's shift change mid-January for us to start... is that procrastination?

This is a great goal, and I think vlogging your progress is a great way to keep things going.

Good luck, and congratulations on your inclusion in the MomDot Top Blogs list!

Awesome! My workout regimen starts this evening (after the kids are in bed). I've got my ipod loaded and ready to go, and I'm excited! (More about the music than the actual exercise, but whatever!)

Way to go, Renee!!! You definitely encouraged me :) I had plans to go up to Curves today, but I'm running out of gas and out of money, so I might just have to take a walk around the park today while the kids are at practice. That should give me about 3 miles. Something is better than nothing, right??

Good for you lady. You have just motivated me to get my booty up and get it moving. I will NOT go to bed tonight without going on my date with Billy Blanks, lol. Promise.

You may have had no makeup or the works, but you were still your same beautiful self, lol. Good luck with reaching your goals, I think I might have to get a seat on that Modern Mom Challenge wagon.

Great job, Renee!! Once you get going, you will fall into a routine and it will be so easy(okay, well maybe not so easy, but easiER)!

Yesterday I hiked 7 miles and this morning I started Boot Camp, so I am right there with you! And the cute outfit for working out? Man, you all are lucky if I even washed the sleep out of my eyes before working out this morning!

Yes Renee! That is one of the reasons I have loved working out lately, because of the "high" afterwards. The workout part I never really like so much, but when it's over I am loving it because I feel good. Keep it up! I'm rootin' for ya!

Ooh girl you go for it. I was hoping to have a wii fit by now, but I don't. So that's my excuse for not working out.

Good for you, Renee! I'm trying to talk my husband into getting me the Wii Fit for my birthday. (Next month) Until then, I have to use my little stepper, which is still a good workout. Now, I just need to get my booty on it.
yay Renee! I'm so proud of you, wat to go!
