Hello, Mr. President!

I am unable to craft a witty post, a prolific post or even a post that says much more than has already been said about this historic day. I am elated that we have a new President of the United States and completely overwhelmed by emotion. Our 44th President, Barack Obama is a capable, determined, hopeful man.
The CHANGE WE NEED!

I don't remember ever feeling so hopeful about the new president. I am so, so grateful for this day and that our children will grow up during the Obama years.

It is certainly a momentous day. What I love is that that my daughter will grow up in a world where an African-American president is simply a part of our reality, not just a dream. Big steps.

This has been such an awesome day. God bless our new President and his family. We all have been emotional at the Ismail house. Our children get to see so much history in their young lives. Now it is up to ALL of us to do our part in getting our country back strong and powerful.

I've been watching it all day online since I got to work. The speeches, the parades, the luncheon, everything. The past 8 years seem like a bad dream that never happened because today is filled with such hope and inspiration.

True words, indeed! Overwhelmed could quite possibly be an understatement! It went from "can you imagine?" to "it's official!" Whooo-hoo!

I cried for most of the day. The kinds of tears that you are trying not to shed ( in front of my class) but can't be helped. That lump in my throat, that moment when you are on the bridge between sobbing and not.

I live now in the town of hope and faith.
Amen sister... With two out of six in my household w/o jobs...(dh and ds); we need change and we need unity...

It was a great day except my prayers go out to Ted Kennedy...
