Feeling Orange Again

Feeling Orange But Sometimes Blue - Ledisi

Are you familiar with Ledisi? No? You. Must. Listen. To. Her. The music is truly beautiful. Somehow she seems to capture my thoughts and feelings in song. Perhaps you will feel the same way. Maybe not. Although I think that we will all agree that she is amazing. Today I was doing my usual, trying to get things done and heard "Feeling Orange Again but Sometimes Blue" and thought - exactly! I feel orange today but there is no guarantee that I will feel this way tomorrow or even for the rest of this day. Just yesterday I felt overwhelmed (and still do to a certain extent) but I am letting Orange rule today.

I wanted my inspiration to be fueled by music and on twitter I asked for recommendations to help bring music into my day. I heard from @Blinkystjames, a young woman that has a positive attitude in the midst of chaos. Her energy is orange and I think it is contagious. Ms. Blinky is a teenager named Katie. She and her mother are homeless in California and Katie is blogging about their experiences at Anywhere But Here. Please visit her blog, if you feel so inclined perhaps you can send a donation to the family.

When I think about stories like Katie's, I remember that life sometimes gives us lemons but we can choose to make lemonade. I am feeling Orange today. I make way for the Blue sometimes, but I am truly thankful that my entire life is more orange than blue.

ETA: Here is one more reason for me to feel orange, I was interviewed on Lucky Start-Ups, a live webcast that highlights new businesses. Please stop by the site and watch the recording of the show.

YAY for Orange--and yay for you, Renee. I'm glad you're up. I was at the hospital yesterday, waiting for HOURS to have my daughter seen, when someone else said out loud the same complaint I was thinking in my head--WHY is this taking SO long?! And wouldn't you know, a little old lady, there with her sick husband, shook her head and said, you know, at least we're not sitting outside in the cold, in the dark, with no access to food or water. We're warm. There's a TV entertaining us. There's a water fountain. It's not so bad if you ask me.

She was so right.

We can ALL complain about something, but really, it's so useful to remember that someone else is probably suffering a lot more, and maybe your circumstances aren't so bad.

Stay orange!

(Oh, Ledisi is THE FIRE. Listen to "Alright" too--it's an incredible song about how not-so-good things happen in life, but it's alright because that's just the way life goes, and there's always love.)

I will have to check Ledisi out...desperate for some new tunes on the iPod. I thoroughly enjoyed your interview on LuckyStartUps! You are a superstar!
I make every day I wake up an Orange day! Of course there are those occasional Blue moments but I look at all the good in my life and turn it Orange again. I hope you have a great day!
Ooh, I like. With the way it started out I didn't expect it to go so uptempo. Thanks for sharing that song! I think everyone has to have some blue days so that the orange ones can really shine.

Great perspective Renee. In 2007, my husband was laid off and for nearly 7 months we struggled to make ends meet. But even at what we thought was our worst moment, we were tremendously blessed. Thanks for reminding us that even in the midst of what feels like bleak, awful chaos, there is always something orange to look toward. :)

You couldn't possibly ever know how timely your post is today. Yesterday was a Blue day if I ever had one, but today, I am determined to stay in the Orange, and reading your post and Michele@Integrated Mother's comment is just the boost I needed today. I'll definitely visit Katie's blog too.

Oh, and I happened upon Ledisi almost a year ago, and have been in love ever since. She's a truth-speaker somethin' serious!

Thanks for sharing!

What a wonderful way to think of it: feeling orange! I agree, while the blues find their way in from time to time, my life is generally pretty orange. We ARE lucky.

PS - I love Ledisi. I'll be adding her to my Rhapsody library.

Let's here it for Orange. But it's ok to be blue if you are referring to the Blue Skies!!! :) I will check out your friends blog. Sometimes we need to be reminded just how lucky we all really are.

Girl, I just watched it. You were awesome, so together and articulate, not that I expected anything less from you, but I think if I got in front of a camera like that I'd blather like a deer in the headlights! You do have the best smile ever.

Thank you so much for the love...I'm blown away that you would think of me in that moment.

Gotta love that good shimmy shaking music. Words have such a healing effect when strung together just right, then put them to a beat and magic happens =)

Ledisi? Never heard of her, but I like her sound. Reminds me a little of Eartha Kitt. Ledisi has the voice for a James Bond song. Maybe that is what I like about it. (Orange is one of my favorite colors. But only certain kinds of orange. Orange also signifies change).

I am going to go and check out that blog! I can't get the song to play...but it sounds lovely!
There is something really inspiring about the color orange. I try to surround myself with as much color as possible during the winter so I went and got myself some beautiful floral curtains with oranges and reds and they are a happy reminder spring is coming (I think? I hope??? aaaaagggggh).

Everybodybest porno movie heard rumours paris hilton porno video about womenteen pussy porno clips faking orgasms. Is that true? The majority of women have vintage porno retro tube faked at least one orgasm, yet some fake almost all of them. Why do they do that? Thereteens porno fotos are many reasons and the case is that there's vintage stewardess porno no one to blame.
The most hardcore porno cartoons common are two youtube teen porno reasons: theyteen video porno amateurs don't want to make their partners feel bad abuelas videos porno de sexo gratis or they are tired and just want to end sex. Most females say that their partners arlong porno clips e not satisfied until thevideo porno matures girls feels orgasm, there's only one way to make them feel happy and stop thefotos xxx porno de sexo entre lesbianas iberporno exhausting procedure - fake.
Another emma watson hot porno pic reason is that acartoon porno galleries typical female free porno web tv doesn't seek for orgasm; she desires a sexual young porno pictures relationship only because she wants intimacy. Still, such an attitude may make her partner feel bad. mother and son porno movies The only way out is to free asian teen porno fake it out.
black granny porno Some women never really experience orgasm while making sex, but they want their partner to feel good about himself and her. Men usually expect women to have pleasure, that's why females have no other choice. They have to fake to have a good relationship.
Loss of interest, having sex only because the partner wants to, also makes women to fake. Most females talk to their friends about such things and while they know other women act it, they do so too, because it's an easier way to have a good relationship.
