Story Time with Renée

I recently won a Flip Video camera from The Domestic Diva and on the recommendation of Jessica Knows, I've decided to try my hand at vlogging. Today I am sharing a book that Mekhi and I both enjoy "Please, Baby, Please" by Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee. Story Time with Renée may become a regular feature but I need your input. Watch the video and let me know what you think!

Haha! Excellent video. When Mike was younger (he's six now), he loved that book! I still like it as much as you do, as well. Looking forward to more installments!

Great Video. I love that you seem very enthusiastic about the book and that you sum it up very well. I don't have this book, but I am going to B&N tomorrow and getting this one.

I hope this becomes a series.

Yay!! Bravo, Bravo ::hand claps::

Look at you Miss Video Diva. I loved it and I think that you should definitely make this a regular feature. It was so nice to actually get a chance to hear the lovely lady behind the lovely words.

You go "video" girl! I'll have to go check that book out!

Just a small tip...I couldn't hear you when you put the book in front of you to show the cover.

Have a great day.
Your video looks great and you are a natural on camera!

Way to go! You did a really nice job. I love my Flip camera. It's not for all video purposes but it works great for shooting short snippits, especially like this. Very cool!
SUUUUUPPPPPER cute video and idea! I want to see the beautiful pictures you're talking about (Kadir is a HUGE favorite of mine--his work is incredible), and I want to hear you read a snippet of the beautiful words in that book (STILL a favorite with my girls, all these years later). You can edit the reviews with you talking and showing the pictures and reading it to Mekhi on your mac--put it to use, mama!!!

Great, great idea!

being a former story time...uhhh...reader at a local bookstore, i think this is a great idea. i enjoyed your enthusiasm in this video about a book both you and your son enjoy, and i agree with someone above who said you're a natural on camera.

parents with young children who are seeking to add new books to their collection may find this very useful.

I loved it! It made me shed a tear missing my preschoolers and 1st graders that I've taught over the years. No matter what people say....children still like that good old-fashioned story time! yup yup. }{

Loving it! I'm going to have to check that book out because this mom says "please, baby, please!" about a hundred times a day. Sigh. Sophie will think it was written about her.

Hey Renee, very cool you one the FLIP. My kids have the same book. My daughter loves it too! Great video. I still have to do my "video" homework. Maybe I'll try over the weekend. I look forward to the next installment.

Great job. I've entered a contest to win a Flip, too. I hope I win -- then I know where to come for advice on how to use it! What's the homework thing about? BTW -- thanks for visiting my site.

Hello Renee!

This vlog is awesome! I Love it! I have seen this book many times at Barnes and Noble, but now I will definitely buy it! Thanks for the recommendation. Your editing skills are pretty good too. I can't wait for the next one!

Great idea Renee!
What a wonderful reader and speaker you are; love the very thorough review!
wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
You have a great voice and you make pleasant little movements with your mouth and face. Still photos don't capture the real you. Thanks for the video.

Our family loves the book the illustrator. I think he did Will Smith's book too! I would have to go dig it out of a toy box to confirm, but not gonna do that.

Thanks for the book review. I have seen this online but have not looked at it in the bookstore. I will now! Sounds like a great repetitive book for little ones!

Great vlog and great book! We don't own it but we did 'watch' it on Reading Rainbow. Wonder if the follow up Please, Puppy, Please is just as good?

I think we tweeted about this book a while back. One of my favorites. Well done!
I enjoyed the vlog and I think that you should make it a regular feature on your site. I will definitely watch it.

Aw, man! I was waiting for you to read it! Great vlog...I definitely think you should keep this as a regular post. This one of my son's (and one of my) faves, too! Another one you might want to check out if you haven't already is Sing-A-Long Song. I have another for you, but I have to dig up the title. I used to read it over and over to him, because *I* wanted to. Anyway, great post and you look lovely!
