Gratitude

The words will not flow. They remain a garbled mess in my head that just don't seem right (write) no matter how I shape them. So I will simply say Be Thankful. In the midst of this holiday season don't get caught up with consumerism. Enjoy your family and friends and be grateful for the things you have. It is easy to get caught up in the frenetic energy of the holidays and spend too much, eat too much and live in regret for the early part of the new year. I suggest that the theme the Holidays 2008 be gratitude.

I am thankful for my family and friends. You bring a smile to my face with the little things. Your words, your smile and your generosity. Please keep the spirit of gratitude in everything you do this holiday season. I believe gratitude is contagious and I hope that you feel the same way too.

Feel free to join the conversation about gratitude this evening during the Twitter Girls Night Out (there are door prizes too). In keeping with the theme, several auctions are being held today and the proceeds will help feed families on Thanksgiving. You can also make a donation by clicking the button.

Wonderful post! Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to come back here and read this many times this holiday season!
Very well said lady! I 100% agree and I live my life being grateful EVERYDAY. No day is a bad one.

How ironic, that was the theme of my son's worship celebration program at school yesterday...that we shouldn't just be thankful on Sundays or at Thanksgiving but everyday, all the time! Thanks for putting it so eloquently!

Beautifully said. I try to remind myself just how very lucky I am on a regular basis. It's easy to forget how fortunate we are.

Ah yes, I need this on a post it note-on my forehead. It is so hard to stay focused on the bigger picture when my mailbox is so flooded with advertisements and SALE! circulars...I'm going to try.
Absolutely. Giddy everyday. For the children. The hubby. The family. The life that God has given. How precious they all are. And how fragile it all is. It takes great strength to be grateful. But with every muscle comes another happy moment. Thanks for the reminder.

Gratitude. It's a great sentiment and good ideal to live by especially during the holidays. It's good to be reminded.

I said this to another friends blog, I believe that giving is the best part of Christmas. There is an unexplainable joy that occurs when we give from ourselves. I can't help but look at my own life and see how blessed I am and not want to help others in need. Thanks for raising our attentions to this.

Wonderfully said. I think that there are times when consumerism just starts to take over and you beautifully articulated why we should be conscious of that.

So true!

Having been on the brink of death more times than I would've liked, I've come to appreciate what really matters: the gift of family, friends and life.

Thanks for the post!
Yes, I am thankful for a good life! I am thankful for my family and I am thankful for people like you!
