Black Friday

I don't do the sales on Black Friday. Running around a store and fighting with folks over things that I am spending my money on has never appealed to me. Of course I can appreciate a good sale but I will do my usual online shopping and be content. Today I will rest, relax, and hang out with my son. I will catch up on my blog visits and maybe enjoy a glass of wine (Mid-day. "It's my prerogative, I will do what I want to do" - gotta love Bobby Brown, pre-Whitney).

I will also reflect on all of my blessings. I leave you with a photo of my munchkin at 3 months old in all of his chunky goodness. I am so thankful for my baby boy and I am so glad to have photos like this one to remember him as a baby.

Since I am chilling out today I decided that this is an Aloha Friday. Kailani says that in Hawaii you just take it easy, relax and get ready for the weekend. So, I will simply ask you a question. What will you be doing this Black Friday?

My husband and son went to "deer camp," so that leaves Kendall and me. I hope she'll help me clean up around here, and then maybe we'll hit a movie. No desire to shop here, either :)

I don't do Black Friday either. I am not getting my eyes clawed out over the last $50 LCD TV. There is nothing I need that badly. Enjoy your day!

What a beautiful baby! We're getting ready to "trim" the house. Not a lot of cleaning to do but there is some & then out w/ the decorations. Time to trim that tree!

I've never done Black Friday but I did today. I didn't mind it, got a few things crossed off the "to buy" list, so it's all good. My mom and siblings are coming up later to, of all things, play her Wii. Yes, my mother bought herself a Wii. Enjoy your relaxation!
I opted not to brave the crazy shopping experience with my two boys. My two boys and I are simply staying in and waiting until hubby gets home from work.

Such a sweet photo! I don't blame you. I've never been to a black friday sale. I value my sleep! LOL

Enjoy your relaxing day

Stopped at two store for items we needed to finish decorating and then on to the grocery store for this week's shopping. Now the decorations are going up.

No Black Friday for me. I did it last year (midnight madness type of thing-shopped from midnight to 6AM...drrrrraining!) I don't buy into all the craziness. It's too much for me-I'm gettin' old (haha-20 years old...)

I just snagged your button by the way!
And realized we both have the same font used in our signatures at the bottom of posts-too funny! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!

The blog looks great (you re-did it, didn't you?) It's fantastic! Did you do it yourself?

I don't do the sales, either! We went to the King Tut Exhibit at Dallas Museum of Art and now we are putting up our Christmas decorations. We usually hold off doing this until after my son's b-day (Dec 8th), but his b-day party is not at the house this year, so with the extra days, we decided to do it today and then relax the rest of the weekend.

Just another day for me. Hubs had to work and there was no way I was going out shopping. This girl can't do crowds, they make me crazy! Super cute picture of Mekhi!!

No way I would dream of shopping today. Do you know I saw in the news of a mall open 24 hrs AND they had cots set up!
I did do a little online shopping but overall just relaxed. we had *leftovers* so I didn't even have to plan a meal!

Don't you think they should make those papasan swings for adults? We went on a gnarly bike ride, by thighs are burning but it was a nice time.

Yep. Can completely relate to being out of the whole Black Friday store craziness. The day was very unfortunate for a Wal-mart employee in NY.

Anyhoo... on a more joyous note, I hope that you and Mekhi had a wonderful Friday and that you got to relax with that glass of wine =)

i didn't do shopping either. i'm broke. so i took down all the lights on my christmas tree and restrung them. i wanted more lights than SIL. call me petty, but she's always doing that to me. and it wouldn't be the holidays without a little sibling-in-law rivalry. i had fun doing it though.

We don't have Black Friday in the Philippines. I wish we had because I love the idea of an all out sale day.
I stay away from the stores too. I know there are some great sales but the crowds are not for me! Happy holiday Renee!

I know you know he is just the cutest thing! I don't do Black Friday either - never did. There are better days and better deals and less chaos. Nope, we decorate for Christmas here. Mostly because we don't know when else we will get to it and we do enjoy it - keeps all the kids home and doing something with mom and dad.

It was a jammie day, sun up to sun down! I didn't even change my undies (but that was probably too much information, wasn't it?)

What a cute pic of Mehki. I will be in bed relaxing and watchng a few marathons on t.v. this is the first time in about 10 years we have not went shopping on black friday. Money is tighter this year and we tend to overspend.

I hear ya! My first 'Black Friday' experience was horrific. Never again! And your sweetie is adorable. Aw. :)

I spent the day with my side of the family!
I hear ya. I tried it a few times over the years and I was not into it. The deals weren't so great, unless I was trying to buy a laptop or something. But even for those sales, you must be in line by midnight and risk being trampled to death like the poor guy in New Jersey. Happy belated turkey day!!
Black Friday I stayed home all safe & sound. I don't like crowds.

I never get out to fight the crowds either! I am much more along the lines of staying home and relaxing:)
I have to agree with you, I don't like fighting with the crowds. What a great baby picture.

We managed to go out to eat with my Dad and get our tree! Other than that, not too much! I love the picture of your little man just hanging out! So fun to remember the baby days!
Black Friday we hung out with some friends in San Diego. We stopped by a couple of stores hoping to find the cannon rebel on sale. But Nope! Have a great week!

I skipped the shopping too, but we have a tradition of going out for Chinese food the day after TG. Had to settle for Thai here on the island, but it was still yummy.

Online shopping is the only way to go!
I tried Black Friday shopping a while back, and it was horrible!
Me? Well, I shopped. From 4:45am until 8am. Then came home and took a 3 hour nap!
Look at chunky Mekhi! We didn't do anything for Black Friday, blech! Did you hear about the stampede and shooting? Goodness!
