Wordful Wednesday - Diaper Cake Update

I made this cake for Jennifer of Happily- Every- After- Land. She hasn't opened the cake for fear that her little one will destroy it. Jennifer this one is for you! She won the cake in the auction I held for the Nie-Nie Recovery Fund and I am proud to report that various internet auctions have raised in excess of $100,000 for the family. The fundraising effort has made national news and the family was featured on The Today Show last week. The blogsophere has really come together for the Nielson family. I wish them a speedy recovery!

So THAT'S what it looks like out of the bubble wrap! I could tell it looked awesome, and I was totally right! My cousin's shower is 9/27, so looking forward to her reaction! Planning to post about it afterward. You're the best!

That is one beautiful cake. I can't wait to have a reason for you to design one for me =).

Glad to hear that so much love poured in for that family in need.
This is so cute. You are so nice to donate. I went to school with the husband and my they are my cousin's cousins. I heard all about the details when I was in AZ this weekend. Sooooo sad. Anyway, I am grateful that everyone is banding together to help them out. I understand the entire family--extended and immediate--are beyond grateful for everyone's help.

BTW: Fun twittering with you tonight.
Really $100,000? I won an auction last week and want to donate one of my bags, but I'm so behind...really? That much??

How embarrassed am I to admit I just got the name of your co. I always thought bootie as in socks, but knew they were diapers. I just realized it is booty as in BOOTY! Cute idea, nice cake.

That one is REALLY pretty! I think I may like the single layer better. Then again, each one that you make I profess it to be my favorite. It is until you create the next one.

Very cute! I have seen larger ones, but I like this size for a gift.

That is so awesome how much money was raised for the Nie-Nie Recovery Fund.
Awesome one Renee!

Congrats Jennifer-the recipient is going to love it!
That is a cute cake. It's amazing this gift you have of making these beautiful cakes from diapers. Please explore making cakes from others things. I want one sooo bad.

Oh, how cute! I'll have to tell "the man" that the cakes are made out of diapers...not a cake that looks like a diaper...really I found "the man" on the side of the road and felt sorry for him...

Had a great time at GNO Twitter!

It's so cute! You have a gift!

I haven't opened the one for my sister yet either. Well, I opened the box but after seeing how well protected it was, I figured I'd wait until closer to her shower.

How amazing that so much money has been raised so far for that family. I read an update about them yesterday. Sounds like a long road, but I think with all the support everyone has given them, they will persevere!
