Walmart grocery pickup saves time!

I am not a fan of grocery shopping. I suppose if I were a meal planner it would be easier because I’d be able to reduce my visits to the to once a month for a big shopping trip and smaller weekly trips for produce. Alas, I am not that organized. Not at all. So, you pretty much will find me in Walmart at least once a week. And I’m not happy. When I add my son to the mix, I’m even less happy. He is a sweet boy and is generally well behaved, however he frequently gets distracted, asks for extras and sometimes gets left behind (on an aisle, not in the store folks!) when he goes with me. So, what am I to do?

Walmart grocery pickup!  I place an order online and pick it up the next day. I can’t begin to tell you how convenient this service is. Even if I have my son we don’t have to go inside. We can stay in the car and our groceries are brought out to us! The process is simple. Place a $30.00 minimum order online, choose a pickup time and received a call 30 minutes prior to my reserved time to let me know my order was ready. I was also asked to call 10 minutes before I arrived so that my groceries would be right on hand.

When I arrived, I followed the signs for grocery pickup and parked in a reserved space. I placed a call to let them know I was there and was pleasantly greeted by a group of women with my groceries. They suggested we examine my eggs to ensure that they were intact. I was handed the eggs and the ladies placed the rest of my order in the car for me. I was told all of my items were available in store, if they were not, I had the option to choose to let them substitute similar items when finalizing my order. Another great aspect of the service is the ability to change my order up until 10 hours before fulfillment. I actually did go back and make some changes and there were no problems at all.

I think this service can cut out a lot of frustration that busy parents experience bringing their children to the store. One little perk that I was especially pleased with was a thank you gift bag filled with a variety samples given to me for trying out the service. I am so pleased with the service and hope that it expands to more Walmarts in the near future!
