Cleaning like a Diva!

                      My closet in a state never before seen.....CLEAN!

It is hard to believe but this May marks the 5th anniversary of living in my house and my son will be five years old (I moved into a new home 5 days before giving birth)! You can imagine with a newborn I had very little time to do much around the house. With the help of my good girlfriend I painted and decorated my son's nursery but that was the extent of my decorating...yes, five years later my walls remain bare and only one other room (my future office and guest room) in my home is painted. What does all of this have to do with cleaning? Well, you see the photo of my closet, right? It has NEVER looked like that before. On Thursday I woke up and said to myself, this is the day! I have to get my closet right.

I did not take a before picture because that would have been too embarrassing - actually I was on such a roll cleaning I did not want to interrupt my flow! You see, my closet has been in a state of disarray since I moved in. Five long years of not being able to find things or hunting for long buried treasure on an almost daily basis. It became normal for me to just leave my clean clothes in my laundry room because at least I knew where everything was!

As you can probably guess, cleaning and organization are not my personal forté but I know people that are on it! My mom for instance, growing up I recall every Sunday was cleaning day. Before I went to church my mother would turn on her music and get to cleaning. Somehow that cleaning gene did not pass down to me but there are some things I do regularly- laundry, fill the dishwasher and cleaning the bathroom but this does not come natural for me.

In a perfect world I'd have a housekeeper to clean and organize my things, an assistant to get my office and files and order and I could just focus on my work and son! I'm honest with myself and KNOW that I am NOT a candidate for Pine-Sol's Deep Clean Diva contest but if you consider yourself an extremist regarding cleaning you MUST enter the contest and you could win $5000!
