What's Next?

Mile 12 - 1.1 miles left to go

At the end of every Superbowl the question is asked - "Now that you've won the Superbowl what are you going to do next?" And the classic answer is "I'm going to Disney World!"  Well, I think the Nike Women's Half-Marathon was my personal equivalent to a Superbowl and want to maintain my title. So, I"m going to Disney World to run the Disney Princess Half-Marathon! On February 27th, 2011 I will be running another half-marathon with a group of my friends - both folks I know in real life and others that have become my friends online. I've been recruiting people to run with me to help celebrate my birthday which falls on February 26th.

I'm truly committed to being fit and I know that having a goal keeps me on track. Subway also believes in people "committing to be fit" and is supporting Jared as he prepares to run the New York Marathon next month. They'd also like to support you and your fitness goals. Perhaps you'd like to join me and run the Disney Half-Marathon in February. Maybe you want to try out that new Zoomba class but haven't had the extra pocket money. Well, Subway has provided me with a $100.00 giftcard for one of my readers so that you too can "Commit to Fit"!

All you have to do is leave a comment here and let me know what you would use the giftcard for. Will you be registering for your first 5K? Getting a dance card for your local dance studio? Anything goes, just tell me how you will use it!

Bonus entries for tweeting about this contest with a link back to this page using #committofit

Good luck!!!!!

Disclosure: I received a giftcard and will be using it for my Disney registration!

I started running last year and after I really started to get into it, I had a sports injury. It has taken months to get healthy enough to run again. So now I am training but I need new shoes. I would use the gift card to buy a good pair of running shoes. don't think I'll be ready for the halk marathon in February but I'm ready to get back into the race. Nothing feels as good as a good run. Well... maybe I went too far (lol) but a good run feels good.

Nice follow-up half! I was gonna do the Las Vegas Rock n' Roll Half in December but am actually thinking of stepping down to focus on heart rate monitor training so I can crush a sub 55 minute 10K for Memorial Day. With the gift card I'll probably get a membership to our reservoir next summer for open water swims and training runs.

I just tweeted about the giveaway, but couldn't grab the link from tweetdeck.

This is a great followup to your Nike 1/2. So proud of you for continuing to move. I have a goal of doing the Disney Princess, too, but can't do it in 2011. Maybe 2012?
Okay, I JUST tweeted:

"I so want to exercise and be "fit" but motivation escapes me! Mr. Husband has been hard at it, and I just watch! Im a good watcher!"

Then I clicked on your link leading me here. Is that a coincidence, I think not. Again, you're coming to my rescue with "motivation."

What I'd do with a gift card... buy the Zoomba dvd set, and dance my extra weight away. Instead of watching my husband exercise, I'll get busy myself.
And I tweeted the contest.

I'd use the gift card to continue with the high intensity, circuit weight training sessions I've started with a local trainer.

Congrats on your half marathon!!

My daughter and I have agreed to do all we can to combat childhood obesity in our family. We'd use the gift card to purchase the Zumba dvd set. We saw the info-mercial, and she said it looked like everyone was having fun!

Hey Renee! You are so inspiring! Reading about your Nike 1/2 marathon experience has totally motivated me for the Disney 1/2 marathon. I would use the $100 to register for that sine I haven't done so yet, or I would use it to purchase a YMCA membership to assist me in training for the race. I'm excited that you are going to be there, too!! There is power and motivation in numbers!!

I would use it to pay for some coaching...I'm going to need it if I plan to finish a full IronMan in 2011.

Wow, this is an awesome giveaway. What would I use with $100?

I think it would be a heart rate monitor/distance tracker watch. I just completed my first 6K and I want to get into running more. After putting a lot of thought into it I think I need those to help me train.

If I didn’t get a HR monitor I would probably get a gym membership. With the winter coming I doubt I will be able to do much running outside.

I would use the $100 to sign up for next years's AC half marathon and 2 additional races (If I sign up before nov. 15th the price of the half is only$50 so that would leave me with enough for 2 5K (or 1 5K for me and my daughter)

is it too late to enter?
My next race is the Women's Half Marathon in St. Pete the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Am eyeing an Orlando half the first weekend in December, but have not yet registered. Figure I should, though, since I'm conditioned for it.

Would love to win the gift card and do the Princess half with you! They moved it up a week? It used to fall on my birthday weekend.

Congratulations on your first race. I found your blog through writerblock. She was tired of hearing me complain about my tired old feet and how I have to buy new shoes when I can afford it.

oops I forgot to tell you what I would do with the gift card. I would purchase new shoes, and give the readers of my blog a break.

On June 5, 2010, I ran my first 5K…thanks to you!! I’ve participated in 3 more since that time. We initially discussed running in the Nike (half) marathon together but unfortunately I was unable to participate. Through observation of your determination and perseverance, I am now motivated and decided to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon with you!!! So, if I won the gift card, I would pay for my registration!!!!
