Spending Time With (Thomas and) Friends
I count myself lucky because my best friend Calinda lives in Atlanta now. We both waited until we were older than average to have children and our boys are only 10 months apart. The boys have hit it off like gangbusters and they are "best" friends too. On Saturday we all went to the historic Fox Theater to see Thomas(the Train) and Friends Live: A Circus Comes to Town* courtesy of Mom Select. I choose to attend the 10:30 am show to avoid conflicts with nap time (this always helps to avoid meltdowns). When we met at the theater the boys both seemed slightly moody, I could not get them to smile for the camera but here they are holding hands.
When we entered the theater the boys could tell something special was going to happen. When after what seemed like hours to them (I am sure) the trains made an appearance. They really seemed to enjoy the show, Thomas is Cinque's favorite and he quietly took in everything that happened on stage. Mekhi enjoyed identifying trains, helicopters and the clown that made an appearance. This was after all Thomas and Friends at the circus. The show was ninety minutes and the boys made it all the way through. They were a little restless during intermission and toward the end but the finale captured their attention.
Overall it was a very nice morning. Mekhi fell asleep in the car and I can only imagine him dreaming of his morning excursion. Thanks again to Maria Bailey and Mom Select for a lovely Saturday adventure.

I never thought about the dreams, but you're right. I guess it's not only a memory but a dream as well.
It's so nice that your best friend lives in Atlanta now, the boys will be lifetime friends :)
Have a wonderful and safe 4th!
Mornings like these are really what being a kid is all about, no?

BTW.. I saw that you are a speaker at the Type-A Mom Conference in Aville! That's where I live.. and have lived all my life! Maybe I'll see you there if I can come up with $100 among all of these horrible state budget cuts!
What a nice weekend outing for all.
I'm glad they enjoyed the show. It looks like it was fun - I probably would have enjoyed it more than my son! LOL!
