A Beautiful Day

Sunday. What a beautiful day. It has been a long time since I've had a day to myself. I am not counting my blogging trips(which have been wonderful) or even a day that I am completely alone. I am referring to a day that I am home alone, with my son, without having a care in the world. For the last six weeks (at least) I have been running, running, running. This frenzy of activity has given me very few moments of alone time to enjoy with my son. Sunday was a special day because Mekhi and I hung around the house, watched movies and slept. It was a glorious, glorious day. Although there were moments like nap time, when I wished for some time alone to catch up on my work, I realized that nothing beats quality time with my child- the work will get done. The comfort that we both derived from him laying on my chest as we napped together for hours on end was priceless. I was reminded of his newborn days when this was a daily occurance. Memories of simplistic days like Sunday bring the biggest smile to my face. I plan on doing more often - the days of being able to baby him will be over quickly than I want to imagine. I am going to take advantage of every moment I can.

I'm so happy you got to spend a relaxing day with Mekhi. Life is all about enjoying the moment and little things in life :)
Man--that sounds like an absolutely glorious day! So glad you got the rest you needed--and deserve.

He napped on your chest? Aaaawww! My son refuses to even have his feet touching anything, never mind me trying to force him to let me hold him! LOL!

Well that's weird. Pretty much the same thing happened here over the weekend and that's what I wrote about this morning.

It was a wonderful Sunday for all of us! I wish you many Mekhi and me days.

I'm betting those frantic days are what makes these lovely peaceful days all that much sweeter.

Good for you, and great for Mekhi! It's cliche to say it, but they truly do grow up so fast, so any precious moments we can take are so worth putting work on hold. After all, they are our ultimate rewards and deserve every moment we can spare.

Oh, and good to see you on Saturday at Daughter's Day :)

I am still able to have days like this with my Miss J. She loves to cuddle with me any chance she gets. I am very sure that you will have more days than you think like this, even as he gets older =)
I'm so glad you were able to have one of those days :) They are the best!! Cute photo!
