Yo Gabba Gabba!
I love Yo Gabba Gabba. It is one of those shows that you either really love or really hate. The first time I saw the crazy looking creatures and the even crazier looking DJ Lance I thought "what is this mess?” But I started listening to what they were saying and realized that this show is pure genius.
The premise of the show is DJ Lance ‘animates” characters and when they come to life they teach through music and song. From the Nick Jr. website:
Another thing that is outstanding about the series is the use of current musicians for the music. In addition to the show, there are “videos” that are shown on Noggin. My favorite so far is the Lovely,Love My Family song (click the link it is worth a listen) by The Roots . The words are really catchy and in classic Roots style will have your toes tapping. It just doesn’t get better than that. My child learns great songs by some of my favorite artists. I get to listen too. A double bonus!
If you have a preschool age child I highly recommend Yo Gabba Gabba. Once you get past the psychedelic dress of DJ Lance and the trippy looking friendly monsters, you will be pleasantly surprised.

“Yo Gabba Gabba! is a fun live-action program for young children ages 1 and up. Join our host DJ Lance Rock as he introduces us to friendly toy monsters in a magical land full of music, dance, colorful cartoons, and simple life lessons that will get you and your children up off the floor to learn and dance along. Just say the magic words! YO GABBA GABBA!!”The music and mini vignettes are excellent. Truthfully, the music is beyond wonderful. One song that is never far from my mind is the Wiggle song, officially titled "Hold Still." We all know that preschool age children can be wiggly from time to time. Well, the Wiggle song lets them get all of the wiggles out and is extremely catchy. I have been singing the Wiggle song ever since we started watching Noggin.

Nor have I until my friend turned on Yo Gabba Gabba ... she made a believer out of me.
I am not sue the Peanut is ready for that type of commitment ... will wean her off Sesame Street slowly. I mean, if she could, that child would inject Elmo directly into her veins.
After 10 years of watching kids show...I need acid to remove all the memories! LOL!!!
Do you find yourself flipping thru the channels and stopping on these shows for far too long before you even realize that are no children in the room?!
totally guilty here.
I am totally loving that my 4 year old knows who Biz Markie is and what it means to " beat box" :)
As much as I dislike this show, I would rather he get into Yo Gabba Gabba than Barney!
I mean who doesn't love the song about eating healthy snacks.... "There's a party in my tummy, so yummy, so yummy".
You've gotta love this show ladies. People think Im crazy when I'm in the grocery store trying to get the kids to pick up healthy snacks and there I go singing this tune... LOL

i don't know what it is- but they love it.
I mean I LOVE Mr. Rogers- but there are days like when he straps on his speedos and swims or something equally weird and I am like Oh man that guy is a FREAK!

Coincidentally, I tweeted about how much we love Yo Gabba Gabba yesterday. Our whole family now sings the "I Like Bugs" song and also the "Don't Bite Your Friends" song.
This show has taught my son to keep trying, share, and of course to sing "there's a party in my tummy" at every meal. He trys to beat box like Biz but that just confuses most people here in Asia.
I tried to get my SO to dress up as DJ Lance for Halloween.
It didn't work.
There is the video of them performing
