Sunday Morning
I know I have mentioned this in the past but every Sunday morning my family takes a trip for breakfast. We go to a place called the Original Pancake House. They serve the best pancakes I have ever had in life. When we first started coming my son was an infant - actually we have been coming since before I was pregnant. Everybody there knows us and has watched our progression from married couple, to pregnant couple, family with infant now toddler. Whenever family visits they join in on the weekly ritual too and as soon as they hit the door request a trip to the Original Pankcake House. They are really that good. My son loves the pancakes.
As you can see he is getting big and in this photo is hanging out patiently waiting for his breakfast. What I didn't chronicle on the camera is the near hysteria that ensued once the pancakes arrived and I didn't cut them up quick enough while trying to shove them in his mouth to prevent a meltdown (I told you they were good - meltdown good).
Here he is enjoying his meal. I am so impressed that my 15 month old son is learning to use utensils and is actually becoming quite a neat eater. Notice the white stuff on his plate, mouth and hands they are called grits. A true Southern dish. As we were eating the meal I thought about my young son and how he is going to be a Southerner. It is funny because I am a fifth generation New Yorker and his father is from Philly. I guess he will pick up on some of our Northern sensibilities when he visits relatives.
Just a random thought there. If you ever happen to find yourself in the Atlanta metro area be sure to check out The Original Pancake House. Tell em' I sent ya (I just wanted to say that because it sounds good; I promise they will look at you with a blank stare if you say that because there are several locations)! Actually there might be a location near you - they are in 28 states including Hawaii.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! I have plans for a play date this evening that includes cocktails - aren't those the best kind? Relax folks, we will be at my best friend's home eating dinner, putting the kiddies to sleep and then having cocktails. You didn' t think I would drink and drive with my child did you?

Your son is just so cuuuuuuuuuuute! :)
Those are great pics!
We just had pancakes today that my husband made from scratch, they were soooo good. I think we've been to an Original Pancake House. It was good!
Looks like lil' man is enjoying those southern roots ;)
And the cocktails and play date idea sounds great, wish I could come!
My kids are both grits lovers. It's the anti-oatmeal for me, even though they both like it. Nope. Not me. I have to have grits.

Going out for breakfast is the best, isn't it? It's my favorite meal out but we rarely do that.
Okay, so I am a little slow, you know I am just now realizing you're in Atlanta. Where have I been? We should get together!
I want that baby!
Seriously - I am sans grandchildren and I just want to pick him up and squeeze him!
Thanks for the compliment on my blog photo - it was exciting to see a real live buck on my walk!
Love,
Jlo
Just lovely photos though . . .
