Global Winter Wonderland

I had the awesome opportunity to get a sneak peak at the Global Winter Wonderland currently on display at Turner Field. I have been telling all of my friends about it ever since. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen something so spectacular that isn’t a permanent display. I’m sure by now you are asking yourself, what the heck is the Global Winter Wonderland? Well, think about the best holiday lighted homes you have viewed and take it up about a thousand notches! The Global Winter Wonderland is a colorfully lighted display of some of the most recognizable monuments in the world. Ranging from Mount Rushmore and the King Monument to the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben. And I can’t even begin to describe the beautiful displays from Japan and China. This is truly a MUST SEE!

My son and I arrived when it was still daylight for the ribbon cutting ceremony so initially I took photos when the displays were not lit and that was impressive but once the lights went out, it was a whole ‘nother story. And quite frankly, my photos in no way do the Global Winter Wonderland justice! But here are a few from our visit.

Santa's Train

In addition to the lighted structures, there is also a carnival that you and your family can enjoy. Fun for the whole family no matter what the age! And there is even more entertainment, you must check the schedule but various performers are slotted to visit and dance, sing and even rap for you! The UniverSoul Circus is showing every Thursday - Sunday night at 6pm and 8pm. Santa is visiting too! In total there are over 70 illuminated lanterns, a dinosaur maze (my son loved it), and over 20 carnival rides. I liked the ferris wheel the best, it provided excellent views of the entire Global Wonderland and the Atlanta skyline!
