Giving Thanks is Top Priority
Last month I mentioned that I will be participated in the EA SPORTS Active 30 Day Challenge. I along with 11 other challengers will be in Santa Barbara, California this weekend to kick off the Challenge. My flight leaves at 11:00 AM tomorrow morning and of course with 24 hours until departure there are still so many things left on my to do list.
I still need a great sports bra, my camera died and I am not packed. I am not sure what I will do about the camera situation; I have been trying to borrow one but all of my friends have events this weekend. I am still on the hunt. Finding a bra is always a challenge for me luckily I have a few that will make do if I can't locate one before the day is over.
Anyhow, rather than ramble on about the things that I have to do, I just want to give thanks. I am happy to have this opportunity and more importantly, I am overjoyed that my mother is on her way to Atlanta. She has been in the hospital for the past 5 days and was released yesterday. She is feeling much better. Of course she is not completely recovered but she truly enjoys spending time with Mekhi and nothing can keep her away from her grandson - no, I did not try to convince her to stay home. My mother is a force of nature and no amount of cajoling will make her change her mind once she is set on something.
I admire her strength and determination and only hope to be half the woman that she is during my lifetime.
