Wordful Wednesday
When Mekhi was an infant he loved his jumperoo jumper. Before he could walk he would get in that thing and jump like a Mexican Jumping Bean. It was great for me because it gave me time to do things around the house while he entertained himself. One day I went to take a shower and put him in the jumper. When I returned (it was a quicky, 5 mintues or less has been the norm with baby around) I found him fast asleep. I knew that no one would believe it so I quickly snapped this photo. And for back-up I also videotaped it. This photo is the result and he looked so peaceful I didn't want to disturb him. I let him sleep there for about 15 minutes and then transferred him to the crib.
(Of course when I went to put him in the crib he woke up and I had to rock him back to sleep. Not unusual. I still rock him to sleep at night. I know, I know. We are getting better. I read, rock and in the crib he goes. He protests a little bit but he is getting better. )

Where do you get those adorable cartoon feedburner thingies? I'm seeing them everywhere and I want one!
Whenever I get annoyed that Lilia needs my assistance to get to sleep, I try to remind myself that she won't want me to snuggle her to sleep in 15 years (give or take a few...) and to just take a deep breath and enjoy. :-)
I looked forward to rocking Emil at night and it was him that had to say "NO".
If he weren't so heavy, I'd still drag him into the rocker and force him to listen to my reading, lol.
Thankfully, we've got the porch swing so that will be nice on summer evenings; not the same but it's the best I can conjure up!
We had a Jumperoo and both my kids loved it...until the dog had a seizure, and well..let's just say there was no cleaning the YUCK or smell that came out of the dog off it so my husband destroyed it (so someone else wouldn't take it from the curb and make their kids sick)
Mawlãnã Rumi...for you...

i rocked mason to sleep until he would not let me anymore... let me tall you, that was a sad night when he said, "bed Momma..." I used to think it was so the wrong thing to do, but as i did it more every night and at nap time I realized that i was getting some of the best sunggles of anyone and i would never ever get that time back- ever! he is now 2 and growing like a weed...
Rock on sister, rock on!
