Wordful Wednesday

As I've mentioned in the past, my son enjoys talking on the phone. So much so that any object that remotely resembles a phone is bound to go up to his ear and he will start babbling. And, he will hand the "phone" over to you so that you can talk. But please don't mistake this for not knowing what an actual phone is. As illustrated in the photo below he knows how to hold onto the phone and have a conversation. When I took this picture I thought he was the cutest thing. As he holds the phone in one hand and the remote in the other it looks like he is truly running things.

I took a second look and realized I am seeing a glimpse of what he will look like as a teenager. Replete with the vaguely annoyed look that says "what do you want now mom?" I pause and remember to cherish each moment because he won't be a baby much longer.

Your son is so cute and he reminds me of my nephew when he was little. He used to love to play "talk on the phone" too. What a sweet picture.

Yep, there is definitely an attraction between babies and remotes (or anything else with buttons).

They grow up so fast!
It can be almost scary sometimes when you catch a glimpse of their future.

He is so cute!! And you're right, that is the same thing I find with my 14 year old with a grunt or annoyed look if I disturb him!

When I saw the picture I thought exactly what you ended up sharing. It looks like a future Mekhi with that "What?" look on his face.

I love it when my little monkeys pretend to be on the phone and repeat the same things I say.

My daughter does the same thing. She'll even imitated our speaking on the phone. Your son is absolutely adorable and you caught him in a perfect shot. I see how you can visualize him 14 years from now with that same look on his face. Thanks for coming by yesterday and commenting.
hmmmm...wonder where he's seen that before? those terrible neighbors!

he's handsome as always...
So cute! My daughter does the same thing...they are very similar, our two cutie pies!

Such a cute picture! Owen does the same thing, thinking everything is a phone, especially remote controls. We've got a good future teenager picture too.

I love your cakes...they are adorable!

Ah yes, it's cute now. Just wait until he turns 15! That day has come for me. Boo-Hoo!!!!!!!!!!
More people need to do these Wordful memes instead of WORDLESS Wednesday. Most of the people who do them are always explaining the pictures in the post, making them WORDFUL. Yay for Wordful Wednesday! I think Jay is going to be a littl Mekhi, he talks non stop but hasn't discovered how amazing the phone is yet! http://www.utterz.com/mommydaddyblog

Does Mekhi have braids or dreads? I can't wait until Jay's hair grows, he rubbed it all out in the back!

Yes, he likes the phone. Did you post a photo not too long ago of him chatting to someone? He's a cutie and that's the exact teenaged look.

My kids love to pretend their own the phone too. They even walk around in circles like I do when I'm on it. :)

I can just picture him as a teenager now. My daughter is much the same, and her eight year old sister thinks she is a teenager already. She thinks she need a cell phone, HA. Thanks for stopping by today.

So precious! Of course by the time they are teenagers our kids will probably be doing some sort of laser mindmeld texting or something. I rarely see teens talking on phones anymore just typing their little thumbs away.
